CM News
On Friday, January 23, 2026, CM hosted its Family Worship in the Atrium. The evenings programming was dedicated to student missions. The speaker for the event was Kiana Kabanje. The place was set with couches and blankets on the floor, ready to receive its people. An introductory video was shown of the current SMs serving in their areas. Following this, the worship team went up to sing songs like Holy Spirit.
Regan Garman, a former SM (student missionary), and current SM director, gave a short introduction and prayer before Kabanje took the stage. Kiana Kabanje began her talk by sharing the events that led her choice in doing her mission in the Honduran mission field. After arriving in the unfamiliar country, she served in the capacities she could, but something felt off. As much as Kiana tried to serve, it felt as if she was missing out on something greater. This feeling began to build up throughout the experience, and Kabanje did not know what to expect.
One day, she meets a group of girls who had a hard time integrating with other children and adults. They were all special needs children, and feeling a personal connection with them, Kabanje took them under her wing. In taking care of them, she realized that her calling was to care for the vulnerable and show them God’s love. Kiana shared many stories about these girls with pictures to showcase her missionary work. She gave a call to action for those willing to consider going on a mission trip and invited them to accept the call.
If serving within the U.S or internationally is something you would like to take on, I would recommend visiting the CM office and talking with Mollie Dupper or Regan for more information on this.
